Solar eclipse 2020: The Annular Solar Eclipse happens when the Moon is farthest from the Earth. Since the Moon 

the farther, it looks like a dark disc on top of another bright disk, which appears like a ring of fire.

After the ‘Strawberry Moon Lunar Eclipse’ on June 5, the nature has another treat for the skygazers this month as an Annular Solar Eclipse will be taking place on June 21, which is also the longest day of the year, for almost 6 hours. The Solar Eclipse will be visible from many parts of Northern India.

The Solar Eclipse which will be taking place on Sunday, June 21, will be an Annular Solar Eclipse, during which the Moon is farthest from the Earth and comes in between the Sun and the Earth. There are three different types of Solar Eclipse, Total Solar Eclipse, Partial Solar Eclipse, and Annular Solar Eclipse.

Annular Solar Eclipse Day, Date and Time:

The Annular Solar Eclipse will be taking place on June 21, Sunday. According to Time and Date the eclipse will start at 9:15 am on June 21 and will complete the entire process in about 6 hours and will end at 3:04 pm on June 21. The maximum eclipse, during which the Sun appears like a ring of fire, will take place at 12:10 pm.

The eclipse will be visible from parts of Africa, including Central African Republic, Congo and Ethiopia. South of Pakistan and northern India and China too will be able to see the eclipse.

Three types of Solar Eclipse:

In the total Solar Eclipse, the Sun, Moon and the Earth all came in a straight line and the Sun gets completely blocked from view during the maximum phase of the eclipse. The total Solar Eclipse can only be seen from a small area on the Earth.

The Partial Solar Eclipse, occurs when the Moon, Sun, and the Earth are not in straight line but the Moon came in between the Sun and the Earth partially. During this phenomenon, only a part of the Sun is blocked from the view.

In the Annular Solar Eclipse, which is going to take place on June 21, the Sun appears to be like a Ring of Fire. The Annular Solar Eclipse happens when the Moon is farthest from the Earth. Eclipse Season:

Generally a Solar Eclipse occurs two weeks after or before of a Lunar Eclipse. Mostly there are two eclipses seen in a row, however, there could as many as three eclipses in a season. The June-July season of eclipses will witness three eclipse. On June we witnessed a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. On June 21 we are about to witness an Annular Solar Eclipse. On July 5, there will again be a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse taking place.
